It is created for children, parents and carers as an aid to understanding the hospital experience involved in the treatment of all types of craniosynostosis. Skull surgery is often a required or recommended treatment for craniosynostosis and this book gives families a child-friendly overview of what to expect during the process. It includes best friends Octavia and Ewan and baby brother Henry. Central to the story is a cuddly toy rabbit, dressed in a surgical gown, just like the children when they have a surgical hospital stay. The toy rabbit has been created as a real toy that is supplied with this book and we hope this will provide a comfort to children, as well as creating useful role-play opportunities.
