Events - Family Weekend

The Headlines Family Weekend is our main event, which we host annually.  Over recent years this has been successfully hosted at the Holiday Inn in Coventry, chosen for its central position in the UK to enable as many families as possible to attend.

The Weekend generally runs from Saturday morning to Sunday lunch time, with accommodation available on Saturday night. The attendance from members is good with usually in excess of 160 coming for the whole weekend.

The purpose of the Weekend is to provide parents and carers the opportunity to get together with others in similar situations, to share experiences and to make friends.  It also provides affected children and their siblings with a comfortable environment in which to have fun, make friends and be in the majority for once.  Alongside this, access is given to a variety of professionals involved in the care and treatment of children with craniofacial conditions, whether they be syndromic or non-syndromic. In the past these have included amongst others:

The children (including affected children and their siblings) have various activities provided to keep them entertained, to allow them to have fun together, to meet up with old friends and to make new ones.

We find that the families who attend gain great support from each other as well as from the professionals. The children enjoy being in the company of others who have had similar experiences and many find it confidence building as well as fun.

The next Family weekend will be on the 13th and 14th June 2015 at the Holiday Inn in Coventry. Further details will be available soon. Please contact us if you have any queries in the meantime.
